Most of the candles available in departmental store are made using paraffin wax which is extremely drippy. Dripless candles are made using beeswax which is a naturally occurring wax produced by honey bees and burns clean without dripping or running when burned. Based on styles, there are two methods of producing dripless candles: one is taper candles and the other is pillar candles.
Taper candles have thick wick placed perfectly at the center within the body of the candle. On burning the wax melts and the thick wick absorbs it. When the flame creeps down the wick, this melted wax burns. Usually a waxy stub is left at the base of such candles. As compared to regular taper candles, these dripless candles burn for a longer period of time.

Dripless candles of pillar type are made from two types of wax. Softer wax is used on the inside of the candle that contains the wick. When the inside (core) becomes hard, the candle is dipped in a hard wax many times so that wax wall is formed around the center of the candle. The bodies of these candles are not heated by the flame to the extent of penetrating the outer layer since outer layer needs higher temperature to melt than the soft wax. The waxy outer cover remains intact when these dripless candles finish burning.

Candles are some of the best decorations in a home. With scented candles you can make fresh the room with light fragrance and elegant & soft lighting. These candles are great way of getting benefits without risk of damaging the furniture.

When dripless candles are kept on top of a piano, it creates a classy look without any hazard of damaging the piano’s finish due to hot wax.
In many churches traditional candles are not allowed due to the damage that dripping hot wax does to their carpets. These candles can be used in such churches with the permission of church.

While enjoying dinners and parties during Christmas season, you can keep these candles on your fireplace mantle and on tabletops, and let them burn for hours without any worry about the wax damage or messes.
While burning these dripless candles, you have to ensure that these are placed on a level surface. If kept on slanted surface, it will cause the wax to flow down the outside of the candle and may cause drip. You should also avoid placing these candles near a fan or in a draft as it may blow off the hot wax of the candle.
