Hair fall is a common problem faced by human beings since a long time. Hair fall problem is mostly common among aged people than younger people. With age the growth of hair unlike any other living tissues reduces. The portion of the skin with nourished active hairs is known as graft. A graft may contain 500 to 600 hair plugs from a part of the scalp.
A patient undergoing hair plug surgery has to endure a series of surgeries for completion of the treatment and possessing the natural look. This procedure is painful unlike other surgeries and does accompany some side-effects like headache and pain which can be overcomed using medicines once the hair plug is completed.
The patient also needs to take rest for a particular time span. Almost over a month is required for the completion of the treatment procedures of hair plug. Hair plug surgery can be costly. The cost of hair plug surgery basically depends on various factors. It can vary from one country to another. In countries like US it can cost from four dollars to five dollars per graft and where as in countries like India the cost of surgery can be around two dollars per graft. Each session of hair plug may include fifteen hundred to four thousand grafts.
The cost of surgery also depends on the area of the scalp that needs to be grafted. The cost of hair plug surgery is same for both men and women until their records are similar. Hair plugs have produced several satisfactory results for many. But some people complained that after shaving their hairs growth rate at different spots of the scalp is different thereby giving them an odd look. Thus it is advisable to properly consult an expert before actually undergoing these kinds of procedures.
